Three weeks . . . I’ve been doing the “stay at home” thing for three weeks . . .
The dogs are loving having me home . . . they’re getting lots of attention and treats . . . and daily walks unless the weather is “yucky” . . .
The laundry is all caught up . . . washed, dried, folded AND put away . . . I have no idea who I am anymore!!
I’m catching up on my soaps . . . and my entire afternoon revolves around Governor DeWine’s 2 pm press conference . . .
I have time to cook . . . and I’m re-discovering my love of cooking . . . and I’m so thankful for my cookbook collection . . . just wish the “cooking” part didn’t involve the “go to the grocery” part . . .
I’m well . . . the family is well . . . although several members of the family are now faced with unemployment and are tangled up in the horrible red-tape and bureaucratic nightmare that the horribly overburdened Ohio unemployment system has become because of this crisis . . .
Today the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and it’s going to be 75 degrees. Even during a world wide pandemic, life is good . . .
Yup. I missed a post yesterday.
You know it’s gonna be a good day when you find a chocolate milk dispenser in the hotel breakfast area.
This is my favorite GIF – Jason Momoa opening a lawn chair. I’m not a big Jason Momoa fan but this thing brings me so much joy.
He’s so cool and he opens that chair so easily. It’s poetry in motion. I wish I could do that move. But I’m not coordinated at all. It would not end well.
Today was the first t-ball practice of the season. I was loading the car with my lawn chair and tried to do my Jason Momoa imitation. It did not end well. I pinched my finger.
I hate when I’m right.
After a two week deep freeze, we had an unusually warm day yesterday.
Millie loved it. She was outside a lot. Hanging out on the deck watching the world go by.
Today it’s about 40 degrees cooler. Millie wants to know where the warm weather went. She’s been an Ohio girl 9 years but she still doesn’t understand how fickle Ohio weather can be.
There’s a few errands I should be running today
But it’s the first day in ages that it’s not freezing . . . or snowing . . .
And I don’t have the heart to call her inside when she’s enjoying sunning herself on the deck . . .
So the errands can wait
That grief is grief is grief. Those who tell you it gets better with time are liars.
That no matter how you think you’re prepared for Ohio winter you’re never prepared for an Ohio winter.
That worry is a total waste of time. Whatever the worst case scenario is, your worry won’t help fix it and when it’s not the worst case scenario you’ve wasted all that time for nothing.
That family drama is actually entertaining when it doesn’t involve you.
And finally – there’s a reason why they’re called ex-husbands
I never dreamed I’d ever say January 20 would be a happy day but I’m saying it today!
My oldest niece got engaged today!
Hello winter. Guess you’re gonna stay a while, huh?
Plans a vacation day to go grocery shopping to avoid the “white death from above” pre winter storm shopping frenzy.
