We Mess Up Everything . . .

I’m a Catholic . . . what’s typically called a “cradle Catholic” . . . which means I was born into a Catholic family, was baptized as an infant, and raised in the Catholic faith all my life.  Reconciliation (confession), First Communion, Confirmation, the whole nine yards.

But we Catholics are regimented.  Rooted in tradition.  Always do the same things the same way . . . for CENTURIES . . .

According to Prince Charming . . . our services are a tad on the boring side . . .

Sometimes we try to liven things up with musical choices . . . and we tend to fail miserably.

Tonight was one of those nights . . . we sang “Soon and Very Soon” . . . a lovely song.  High Energy.  Spiritual.  A very moving song . . . except when you have a bunch of stuffy Catholics trying to sing it . . . it was all I could do to laugh during the final minutes of Mass . . .

Google the song title . . . watch ANY video . . . and know that the polar opposite is what happened during Mass tonight . . .
